About Passionate Educators

Passionate Educators was founded in 2022 to expand the prior scholarship and grant programs established by the Hopkins Family in partnership with the Brunswick Education Foundation (Brunswick City School District, Ohio).

 The scholarship program is named for the late Deborah Hopkins. Debbie inspired hundreds of children over her 30-year career with the Brunswick City School District.   Student applicants are asked to design a presentation that reflects their educational values and imagination. 

 Teacher grants are evaluated on their innovative approaches for encouraging more effective student engagement, promoting higher academic success, building student self-esteem, confidence, social/emotional resiliency, respect and empathy for others.

 We have reached our near-term goals to provide continuing support via a scholarship "renewal" opportunity for previous recipients and to expand outside the Brunswick School System.  We are excited to continue our support of these exceptional students.  Our long-term goal is to spread statewide.
